Who Will Ashley Pick? My New #Bachelorette Hobby

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

Have you been watching this season of The Bachelorette with Ashley Hebert? I have to tell you my new favorite hobby is following the “#bachelorette” hashtag on Twitter during the show. It’s like being able to watch The Bachelorette with my best friends. The comments are hilarious and often spot on. Need some examples? Here are recent tweets from last night’s episode. Keep in mind the program was interrupted for Obama’s debt crisis speech:

@Possessionist: If Obama doesn’t bring back my #Bachelorette, the debt will be the LEAST Of his crises.

@WhatIWore: If you’re staying in a “fantasy suite” twice in one week…With TWO different men…You’re probably not ready to get married. #bachelorette

@MarissaJustMay: Ryan is the equivalent to glitter. once you play with it you can never get rid of it #bachelorette

@BachelorTV: Who cares about the Debt crisis! WILL Constantine go to the Fantasy Suite!?!?!?! help!! #Bachelorette

@NotMarryingKind: I wonder if Ashley wears her short shorts and sheer shirts when she’s dentisting. That’s right, dentisting. It’s a word. #bachelorette

@JenniferWeiner: Men of the #bachelorette: there’s a line between charmingly persistent and recurring like last week’s yeast infection. No rose? Stay home.

So if you don’t have TiVo like me, give yourself something to do during commercial breaks and enjoy some laughs by seeing what everyone else is talking about when it comes to the Bachelorette. I’ll definitely be tweeting during the finale!

Yay or Nay: Tweeting During a Bachelorette Party?

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Just because modern brides love posting wedding planning details on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr doesn’t mean they want their bachelorette party broadcast to the world. According to WeddingChannel.com there are plenty of digital does and don’ts when it comes to the wedding. “From Facebook and Twitter to foursquare and Flickr, when it comes to wedding guests, brides have more to worry about than just whether a guest will wear white,” says Sharon Stimpfle, deputy site director of WeddingChannel.com in a news release. “In an over-sharing online world, guests are posting Facebook status updates while they’re at the wedding and even trying to RSVP on Twitter, leaving brides feeling frustrated and over-exposed.”

Brides May Tweet, But Should Bachelorettes?

Brides May Tweet, But Should Bachelorettes?

It’s probably not a good idea to send out twit pics of the bride dancing on a table at her bachelorette party or post party photos to your Facebook photo album. But if you’re a die-hard social media fan, make sure you get the bride’s permission before doing so. Forty percent of brides said posting photos online without clearance from the bride or even a heads-up was their biggest digital wedding gripe, according to a WeddingChannel.com poll.

So what do you think? Is it a bad idea to bring the bachelorette party to the world through social media? Tweet us and let us know what you think or post a comment on The House of Bachelorette’s Facebook page.
