The House of Bachelorette Founder Stephanie Storm-Robertson Featured in December REDBOOK
Tuesday, November 15th, 2011
Lady Antebellum’s lead singer Hillary Scott may be on the cover, but you’ll want to flip to page 136 of the December issue of REDBOOK to see The House of Bachelorette founder Stephanie Storm-Robertson and her beautiful baby Beck. Stephanie is featured in an article highlighting the upside of a down economy.
Stephanie has an inspiring story of how she turned a bad situation into something great– a thriving online business! Stephanie tells REDBOOK readers that she was laid off in 2009 after climbing her way up the corporate ladder. The layoff came as a shock, but it was actually just the kick in the pants she needed to do something she’s always dreamed of: become her own boss.
It’s hard to believe but 2011 is just the second full year of business for The House of Bachelorette. In that short time it’s become THE destination for bachelorette party supplies, bachelorette decor, and bachelorette gifts. We’ve been a part of thousands of bachelorette parties across the country and Stephanie couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of one of the most exciting nights in a young woman’s life.
Thanks to REDBOOK for choosing to include Stephanie in their December issue and for the opportunity to share her inspiring story with their 2.2 million readers. Want to connect further with Stephanie about launching an online business? Check out her Facebook fan page!
Need Something Pink for October?
Friday, October 7th, 2011
There are plenty of pink parties and breast cancer awareness events happening in October. If you need a great pink accessory, The House of Bachelorette has you covered! Over the last two years we’ve supplied tens of thousands of feather boas to destinations all over the US and of course pink is our most popular color!
Besides boas that can be worn around the neck, we’ve also got cute pink fab feather bracelet that sells for just $1.99. Need something to wear up top? How about an adorable pink tiara? It’s marked down to $4.39 and comes trimmed out with pink marabou feathers. And if you happen to be a bachelorette, bride, or maid-of-honor celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month you’ll love our Gem Tanks in soft pink.
According to breastcancer.org roughly one in eight women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer at some point in her life. It’s a serious problem, but if we all pull together there is no reason why we can’t uncover a cure. And we may as well look cute in pink while we do it!
Bachelor Pad Winner Holly Durst Enjoying The “Bride To Be” Title
Friday, September 23rd, 2011It’s been a pretty great couple of months for reality TV star Holly Durst. Not only did she meet her hunky new finance Blake Julian and get engaged in front of millions of people, but she also won $125,000 on the Bachelor Pad finale. The House of Bachelorette caught up with Holly last week at a benefit for Water of Life, a non-profit digging wells in Third World countries.
Of course since we knew we were going to be meeting up with one of the hottest couples in reality TV right now, we wanted to give Holly a little engagement gift. We packed one of our popular bride totes full of fun stuff including a feather boa, the Perfect Bride To Be Tiara and a white Bride Tank. She loved her Super Bling Sash so much she even modeled it for us! These are a brand new item for The House of Bachelorette and we were excited Holly was one of the first to wear this fun accessory!
Holly and her fiance Blake Julian are now calling Greenville, South Carolina home. Blake is opening up a new dental practice this week and Holly is putting the finishing touches on her children’s book Chocolate Socks. They haven’t announced a wedding date yet but we wish them the best! And we bet Holly’s bachelorette party will be a night to remember!
Review: Bridesmaids Movie
Friday, May 13th, 2011
Bridesmaids the movie opens nationwide today, but I had a chance to see a sneak peek of it last week. Let me just tell you– IT WAS HILARIOUS! I cant’ remember the last time I laughed so hard at a movie. Even my husband was laughing so hard he teared up so it’s definitely not just a chick flick. There were scenes in there that every bride or bridesmaid can relate to.
Typically in the movies the role of bridesmaid or maid-of-honor is portrayed very romantically. It’s an easy breezy job, full of parties and pretty dresses. But Bridesmaids tells it more like it really is. There are expensive dresses to buy, crazy wedding party members to deal with and bridal meltdowns to avoid. Of course many of the scenes are over the top (like the flight to Vegas where Annie sees a colonial woman on the wing of the plane or the dress fitting session where everyone becomes raging sick.) But I’m pretty sure you will see at least a glimpse of your own wedding experiences somewhere in the film.
So grab your girls– or even your guy– and head to the theater right away to see this movie. I guarantee you will laugh. And who couldn’t use more laughter in their lives? When you do see it, be sure to come back here and tell me what your favorite scene was! I’d love to compare notes!
