Some brides are giving new meaning to the “hangover.” A healthy and adrenaline-filled alternative to the traditional bachelorette party is having it at a trapeze class. Recently, newspapers interviewed 25-year-old bride-to-be Nicki Bonebrake who says the day after her bachelorette party she could barely get out of bed– and not because she drank too much. Her body was exhausted after learning the trapeze. “I couldn’t lift my arms. I put on deodorant and it hurt,” Bonebrake told reporters. “It was the good kind of sore.”

Bonebrake is like many impending brides, health conscious. She plays volleyball, coed flag football and attends yoga. That’s why when it came time to choose a bachelorette party activity, trapeze came out at the top of her list. It’s a great way to burn calories and build muscle tone before your big day. Butlers in the Buff bring hunky, toned men to your party, ready to serve drinks and nibbles all night long. We’re thinking this might be even better than the traditional Bachelorette Party Supplies! Unlike the British  butlers you see on Downton Abbey, these men are less clothed. They wear a white collar, bow-tie, a tiny apron, and of course, a smile.

The concept started in the UK about a decade ago and was recently brought to the US. Right now Butlers in the Buff are available in Florida where 75 men are ready to bring their six-pack to your bachelorette party. The company says you can request to have your butler pull on black boxer briefs or black dress pants if it’s more appropriate for your event.

Having a hot many wait on you for the evening isn’t necessarily cheap, but the company promises you’re getting service with a smile. Sioux City, IA Bachelorette Party – Now I have to include Sioux City in the list…not because I think I have a ton of BLOG readers in Sioux City, but because I grew up there and have partied there many times. I have to say for a small town Sioux City can ROCK. My little sister actually went to a Bachelorette Party there just a few months back (Shoutout – Congrats Mellisa & Al) and she says you should be sure to check out the Bars on Lower 4th. This is the area where you can “pub crawl” between 4-6 good bars and nightclubs. Don’t miss Buffalo Alice’s for good bar food! Want activities such as sand volleyball? Try The Icky Nickel Bar & Grill (on 41st St.). You will probably see a bar fight and get hit on by a bunch of undesirable guys, but if you get bored, you can always hit a bucket of balls in their driving range! One last note about Sioux City – if you are visiting, I cannot stress enough that you MUST try Tasty In and Out (Very fitting for a Bachelorette Party) and you MUST have a Morningside Pizza (with “everything” on top). Two reasons that Sioux City is a GEM!

Iowa City, IA Bachelorette Party – Iowa City not only boasts a great University but also many great places to Kick up your heals! If you looking for live music try the Yacht Club. Their concert schedule is constant and they have lot’s of great events. While you their try their tater tots…they are obsessed with them! Want a little dancing?
