And I DON’T mean your Color Scheme!

Like many of you Brides and Bachelortette’s out there, I want all of my wedding and festivities to – if not be completely environmentally responsible (which can be over-whelming in regards to weddings) then at least environmentally mindful. That’s what I mean when I say having a GREEN Bachelorette Party…a party that celebrates you, your friendships, your love and your wedding, while having a more minimal impact on the planet!

As I am less than 1 year from the big “I Do”- I am on a CRAZY shopping/consumption spree…the likes of which I will probably never repeat in my life-time….but…I am also concerned about the environment and our planet’s future.

Here are a few ideas I have had on how to accomplish a GREEN BACHELORETTE PARTY :

GREEN Bachelorette Party Transportation : Skip the Gas Guzzling HUMMER LIMO and opt for something a little more environmentally friendly. Walking or biking would be the top pick, but even an entourage of Hybrids would be an improvement. You can have fun decorating the car(s) for the big night, and the decorations can be reused (so pass them on to the next Bride-to-be!  Also, keeping your Bachelorette Party a local event will cut down on how far people need to travel.

What to Wear to your Bachelorette Party: If you want a Bachelorette Tee for your group of girls to wear, try an organic tee. Organic t-shirts are made of cotton grown without pesticides. Organic clothing is a hot new trend that is improving cotton farming around the world. 

GREEN Bachelorette Party Decorations:  Look for decorations made from Recycled paper. Also, saving and reusing decorations is a great way to cut back.

• The Bachelorette Habitat for Humanity Party – Get out your tool belt and grab your bachelorettes for a FUN day of helping others and building homes! Invite the hottest carpenters on the job to the “after party” at your local pub!
• The Bachelorette “Walk” Party – Pick the brides favorite charity and join in their walk event. Get the entire Bachelorette Party matching shirts and make sure each bachelorette has a lot of sponsors donating for your group. At the end of the walk donate all of the proceeds in the brides name.
• The Bachelorette Trash Pick-Up Party – Take the bachelorette party to the brides favorite park and spend a few hours picking up trash. After the work is over enjoy a relaxing picnic along with party games.
• Have a Bachelorette Day at the Local Animal Shelter – Take the entire Bachelorette Group to the local animal shelter for a fun day with the dogs and cats. 3 Easy Ways to MAKE MONEY at your Bachelorette Party:

• The Suck-a-Buck T-shirt – Yes, the Suck a buck t-shirt is a time honored tradition among Bachelorette Party-Goers. For those of you who are unfamiliar it is a t-shirt with candy attached that Men can remove for a small payment (normally $1.00). This is NOT for a timid bride. If you are a HOT Bride-to-Be you can charge more (try $5.00 to start) but expect some groping! Traditionally the candies on your chest get an up charge (usually $+5.00). The Bride should NOT be the one negotiating with the Men!…it is the bachelorettes duty to work the Suck-a-buck t-shirt deals. ###For BOLD Brides only###!

• The Suck-a-Buck Bouquet - For some less-racy FUN the Suck-a-Buck Bouquet is the same idea with less hands-on activity for the guys. The Suck-a-Buck Bouquet consists of a bouquet of lollipops (such as Tootsie-pops) bundled together into a “bridal Bouquet”. Each of these lollipops can be sold for $1.00 each. Don’t expect to get more than $1.00 – without groping, most guys are less free with the $$$. A Bachelorette or the Maid-of-Honor should make the Suck-a-Buck Bouquet and present it to the bride. Again the bride should not have to hock her candies…that is the Bachelorettes job. ###For All Brides ###

• The Beads-4Bucks Game – This is really a Bachelorette party Game that can be for profit. Start with a bunch of Cool (Mardi Gras style) beads. Sell your beads for $1.00 each. The great thing about this game is ALL the Bachelorettes can participate (not just the bride). ###For ALL Brides & BACHELORETTES ###!

Bachelorette Movie Night is a great way to have a low-key Bachelorette Party (that is growing in popularity)! Whether you watch these movies on your Bachelorette night or the next day as you and the Bachelorettes are nursing your hangovers (Lets hope NOT!) you will have a great time!

While you can’t go wrong with any of the Brides’ favorite movies, you definitely want to set the right tone to your Bachelorette Movie night.

“Naughty” Gift Ideas: These are great gift ideas if the bride is a close friend, and her Mother/Father/Minister/Mother-in-Law are NOT going to be present at the Party! Try a Naughty Book or naughty Coupon Book, a Feather Fan for the Bedroom, or an entire stripper pole for the couple to enjoy in the privacy of their own bedroom!  These are usually Groom favorites!

• Lingerie - If you buy this kind of item be sure to pick something that is really special or out of the ordinary. Buy an item in the brides favorite colors (or better yet in her wedding colors) or buy something that she would never buy for herself. Remember the wedding night is coming up and she will need LOT’s of sexy lingerie to make it the World Best Honeymoon!
• Bedroom Supplies- Bedroom supplies such as lotions, creams, battery powered pleasure devices, etc. make great gifts at the Bachelorette Party. Not only do these come in handy for the honeymoon, but they can be the gift that keeps on giving!
